What are the Sponsored Places?
In collaboration with the NEU, UKLA are thrilled to offer sponsored places for teachers that are members of both organisations, as well as sponsored places for students nominated by their HE tutors, at the International Conference each year. The sponsored places for teachers are all-inclusive tickets to the International Conference, including the full 2-day programme of sessions, accommodation on Friday and Saturday night, and all meals. For students, the sponsorship offers them the opportunity to attend the full Friday and Saturday of Conference, including the Book Awards ceremony, and accommodation for the Friday night. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers to come to the Conference that wouldn’t otherwise be able to, and for students to begin to get involved in national literacy networks, as well as learn from some of the top literacy educators in the UK.

It was brilliant to be awarded a sponsored place at the UKLA International Conference this year. The whole weekend was buzzing: with such a jam-packed schedule, it was difficult to choose which presentations to attend. Every session I went to was fascinating and thought-provoking, and the social side of the conference was also fun, relaxed and welcoming… I met so many amazing people, came away with tonnes of new ideas and learnt loads. It is the best CPD ever!
