He will show how literacy stretches across many areas of the curriculum, from Foundation Phase to Year Six.

Francesca Kay: Poet Poet Francesca Kay has spent over 20 years working with children in schools, libraries, gardens, woodlands, museums and art galleries.  Her enthusiasm is always for words, written, spoken, performed, or even just thought! Francesca will share her love of words and poetry, especially for children.  Francesca will demonstrate and develop how creativity can be nurtured through the use of poetry in many forms.

Jo Bowers:  Teacher Jo has been working with children on developing thinking skills through Philosophy For Children.  She will explain P4C and how stories can be a powerful means of enabling even young children to develop language and emotional awareness. This is a valuable opportunity for teachers to explore how literacy permeates the curriculum and to consider practical ways to motivate children to develop their language and writing skills.  It has relevance for teachers across the primary age range – from Foundation Phase to Year Six.  A chance not to be missed!  Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
