Reading Recovery national conference: teachers, children and schools learning together

Reading Recovery Europe, Institute of Education

This event took place Saturday June 14th, 2014

Nearly 12,500 children received Reading Recovery support in the UK and Ireland last year (2012-13). Without the support from their specially trained teachers, many pupils would have fallen further behind their peers. This essential conference for Reading Recovery practitioners will enhance practice and deepen theoretical understandings to help work towards supporting more struggling readers and writers, bringing together leading experts in the field of literacy learning and literacy difficulties. A selection of seminars will also be available for non-Reading Recovery practitioners wishing to improve their understanding of literacy learning. Key themes:

  • Latest research and findings on literacy difficulties
  • Making the most of Reading Recovery professional development
  • Which book and why
  • Choosing effective interventions
  • Measuring improvement and understanding what action to take
  • Involving and supporting parents

Who should attend?

  • Reading Recovery teachers and teacher leaders
  • Literacy coordinators
  • Early intervention teachers
  • Head teachers
  • Classroom teachers
