UKLA National Conference 2016
As You Like It: Teaching Shakespeare in Primary and Secondary Classrooms
UKLA's 2016 National Conference will be a collaboration with the British Library and the English Association's Children's Literature Special Interest Group. The conference is aimed at all Senior Leaders, KS2 and 3 teachers, English Subject Leaders in Primary Schools and Heads of Departments in Secondary Schools.
This inspirational conference will celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death and is timed to coincide with a fascinating British Library exhibition, Shakespeare in Ten Acts. The conference will explore practical ways of exploring Shakespeare’s classic works, as well as how his stories have been reinterpreted by writers and illustrators, making them more accessible to young people.
- Prof Laura Tosi, University of Venice
- James Clements
- Celebrated Writers Marcia Williams, Mick Manning and Brita Granstrom in conversation with Nikki Gamble (Just Imagine Story Centre).
Attendees can choose from a selection of practical workshops to develop ideas for teaching in and outside the classroom, led by well-known experts as well as current, outstanding, classroom teachers. We are pleased that the wonderful Norfolk Children’s Bookshop will be bringing a cornucopia of fabulous books to browse and buy.
