UKLA Wales. Reading for Pleasure: Creating Lifelong Readers.

Reading for pleasure is identified as a key component in raising reading achievement. This timely and inspirational conference focuses on the significance of children reading for pleasure and becoming readers for life. It explores ways to motivate, engage and foster reading for pleasure in primary and secondary classrooms. This day will provide delegates with:

  • Strategies to inspire pupils to read with pleasure and techniques to maintain the reading habit and will offer evidence from practitioners about what works and why.
  • Share different approaches to encourage reading for pleasure.
  • Participate in practical, thought provoking sessions which will scaffold creative teaching to foster reading for pleasure.
