UKLA is delighted to announce that the following students have been awarded NEU Sponsored Places to attend the UKLA Book Awards ceremony and the Saturday programme of the UKLA International Conference in Liverpool June 27/28th.

Panel members were delighted to read detailed evidence from tutors about ways in which these students were committed to reading and sharing books with pupils: reading aloud to classes over time; working with individual pupils to find just the right texts; setting up book clubs on school placements and in their universities; organising student led recommendationsonline; creating weekly lunchtime book clubs for pupils and for fellow students; and establishing a Book bank in the local community centre food bank.
