UKLA is delighted to congratulate the authors and project team of the book Visual Journeys through wordless narratives: An international inquiry with immigrant children and The Arrival, which received the Edward B. Fry Award from the Literacy Research Association.
Written by UKLA member Evelyn Arizpe, Teresa Colomer and Carmen Martínez-Roldán, this book is based on a research project that began with funding from the Glasgow School of Education and continued with a grant from UKLA.
The award was given based on the following criteria:
- Advances knowledge about literacy
- Displays inquiry into literacy
- Shows responsible intellectual risk taking
