The 51st UKLA international conference

Re-assessing Literacy: talking, reading and writing in the 21st Century

will take place at The National College for Teaching and Leadership in Nottingham, UK from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th July 2015.The landscape for literacy teaching continues to change.  These changes are driven by the technology available to us to communicate and to make meaning but also by educational policy being applied in the United Kingdom and internationally. This conference will be an opportunity for literacy practitioners and academics to discuss a literacy for the 21st Century and how to respond to the opportunities and challenges that face teachers and children. Speakers to include Dr Henry Giroux, Professor Kathy Hall, Dr Steven Layne and author Kevin Brooks.

The Call for Papers is open until December 12th 2014.
