The UKLA Children’s Digital Book Award was not awarded this year. The judges and participating teachers did not identify an app that would meet all the criteria for the award. The shortlisted apps seemed to have been produced for the home rather than school market and the teachers felt there were several missed opportunities to connect their content to the National Curriculum.
The judges have decided to withhold the prize to maintain the high standards of the digital books that the UKLA Digital Book Award represents and look forward to more diverse and suitable submissions next year.
