The United Kingdom Literacy Association (UKLA) is an association which prides itself on advancing literacy education by creating a supportive community for those working in literacy, language and communication, and by providing access to the latest research for use by practitioners and policy makers.
UKLA offers committed support to Initial Teacher Education by offering a forum for discussion of both best practice and research; funding small-scale research projects; publishing literacy research in its internationally recognised journals; and providing access to the latest evidence-based literacy research proven to impact on the development, learning and life chances of children within our schools.
We therefore have an interest in the proposals outlined in the Market Review.
