Kelly Ashley is the author of Word Power: Amplifying vocabulary instruction (2019) and has more than 20 years of experience in education holding teaching, leadership and advisory roles in the UK and America. In her current role as director of Kelly Ashley Consultancy, she enjoys working as a freelance consultant with schools and organisations across the UK and abroad, offering bespoke training and support on all aspects of the primary English curriculum with a keen interest in vocabulary development and language acquisition. Kelly enjoys the varied benefits of her UKLA membership and she has served as a regional rep in the Yorkshire region since 2019. She is a member of the UKLA Teaching Writing SIG (special interest group) and the UKLA Publications and Communication (P&C) Committee – relishing opportunities to collaborate with others across the organisation. Kelly also enjoys attending and presenting at the various UKLA conferences and events – wonderful opportunities to meet with and learn from other organisational members from across the UK and abroad.
