I have recently completed my doctoral studies at Northumbria University, exploring the perspective of Reception children in the ‘school readiness’ debate. As part of this project, I endeavoured to use a creative methodology to capture moments of children’s creativity and intelligence.
My interest in early years research has been shaped by my experiences as a primary school and early years teacher. Future aspirations include working more closely with undergraduate and postgraduate students to inspire them to think differently about young children, and more critically about education.
I continue to enjoy teaching on a part time basis and currently work in both primary and secondary settings.
