Making an Impact 2: Embedding new literacies

What are multimodal texts and how should they be taught? Designed to be used with UKLA’s Beyond Words: Developing children’s response to multimodal texts these materials offer a new framework for describing progress in engaging with new literacies: alternative reality games, comic strips and graphic novels, films, internet sites and picturebooks. The materials start with sessions to identify existing provision for multimodal literacy and review children’s and teachers’ experience of new forms of text.
