The UKLA Early Years Special Interest Group is a collective of members interested in young children’s, toddlers and babies’ literacies. The SIG is keen to build a community of researchers, teachers, advisors and student teacher members interested in early literacies.
The primary aim for the SIG is to provide a collaborative space for professional networking to promote appropriate early literacies pedagogies and practices for children from infancy to age 8 years. It will be a space to discuss and disseminate research and evidence-based practice. The group will contribute to UKLA’ s broader advocacy for policies that promote inclusive and socially-just literacy education.
The SIG embraces a range of interests and lines of enquiry, dependent on the interests and needs of the group.
